Christmas at Whip Hill
The beautiful Whip Hill mansion is decorated and opens for crafts and pictures with Santa, followed by free hot cocoa and Christmas cookies. 2022: December 17 and 18, 2-5 pm each day. Whip Hill Park Road (Entrance off of Perkins St). Boo at the Zoo
Trick-or-treat among the animals and watch animals receive pumpkins as enrichment. Costumes encouraged. Also includes crafts, games, costume contest and haunted maze. Zoo Lights
Beautiful zoo-themed lights, pictures with Santa, actual reindeer and more at the Stone Zoo. 2022: Evenings 4-9:30 pm Nov. 18-Jan. 8, except Nov. 24 and Dec. 25. Holiday Tree Lighting
Free event with train rides, holiday crafts, hot cocoa and food, carols and Santa. Festivities culminate with traditional lighting of the big tree on the Common. Sponsored by the Stoneham Chamber of Commerce. Trolley rides are also available at 5pm to ZooLights. $6 adults, $3 children. Trick or Treat at downtown businesses, with pumpkin decorating and games on the Common. Don’t forget to stop in at Stoneham TV and stop or drive by the common later in the evening to see the lit pumpkins. 2022: Saturday, October 29, 1-3 pm. Easter Festivities and Egg Hunts
Local events include an egg hunt on the Common from the Stoneham Recreation Dept., annual easter egg hunts from the Boys & Girls Club (for the under six crowd) and the Bunny Banazoo at the Stone Zoo. 2023: TBD |

Annual Parade to commemorate Memorial Day and Stoneham veterans, past and present. Held annually on Memorial Day itself, rain or shine. Parade starts at 10 am from Washington and Elm Streets, proceeds to Main Street, down Montvale Ave. to Lindenwood Cemetery, back up Montvale to Main, down to Central Sq, turns up Central St and ends at Town Hall, where is there is an additional ceremony. 2023: Monday, May 29. |
