Christmas at Whip Hill
The beautiful Whip Hill mansion is decorated and opens for crafts and pictures with Santa, followed by free hot cocoa and Christmas cookies.
2018: December 8 and 9, 2-5 pm each day. Whip Hill Park Road (Entrance off of Perkins St).
Boo at the Zoo
Trick-or-treat among the animals and watch animals receive pumpkins as enrichment. Costumes encouraged. Also includes crafts, games, costume contest and haunted maze. Included with zoo admission - rain or shine.
2018: Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 20 and 21, 11-3, Stone Zoo, Pond Street.
Stoneham Thanksgiving Market
The Thanksgiving Farmers Market still has plenty of fresh food and features crafts and gifts as well.
2018: Saturday, November 17, 10-2 in the Town Hall Auditorium (35 Central St.).
Beautiful zoo-themed lights, pictures with Santa, actual reindeer and more at the Stone Zoo. Tickets $7-10.
2018: Evenings 5-9 pm Nov. 23-Dec. 31, except Dec. 25. Pictures with Santa until Dec. 23.
Holiday Tree Lighting
Free event with pony rides, holiday crafts, hot cocoa and food, carols and Santa. Festivities culminate with traditional lighting of the big tree on the Common. – Sponsored by the Stoneham Chamber of Commerce. Trolley rides are also available at 5pm to ZooLights. $6 adults, $3 children. Proceeds to the Stoneham Business and Community Educational Foundation (SBCEF)

Halloween Stroll and Pumpkin Lighting - sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce
Trick or Treat at downtown businesses, with pumpkin carving and games on the Common. Don’t forget to stop in at Stoneham TV & the Historical Society.
2018: Saturday, October 27, 2-4 pm, with pumpkin lighting later after dark.
Easter Festivities and Egg Hunts
Local events include an egg hunt on the Common from the Stoneham Recreation Dept., annual easter egg hunts from the Boys & Girls Club (for the under six crowd) and the Bunny Banazoo at the Stone Zoo.

Annual festival of beautifully decorated trees to benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Stoneham and Wakefield.

Stoneham takes on archrival Reading each year.

Veterans Day Ceremony & Race
Annual Town Veterans Day Ceremony followed by a fundraiser race to benefit local veterans groups.
2018: November 11, Ceremony 10:30 am the Town Hall Auditorium (35 Central St.) Race to follow.
Memorial Day Parade & Ceremony
Annual Parade to commemorate Memorial Day and Stoneham veterans, past and present. Held annually on Memorial Day itself, rain or shine. Parade starts at 10 am from Washington and Elm Streets, proceeds to Main Street, down Montvale Ave. to Lindenwood Cemetery, back up Montvale to Main, down to Central Sq, turns up Central St and ends at Town Hall, where is there is an additional ceremony.
